jolo is Joe LoGuirato, a native New Yorker inspired by the natural organic forms of landscapes, anatomy, and facial expressions. He looks inward to the human anatomy for forms and movement while presenting subjective experiences outward.
The twisting and turning shapes of tree branches create texture and complexity for his compositions. LoGuirato incorporates various traditional media into his digital art including acrylic painting, photography, pastel, and sculpture.
A Corporate Art Director for many years, LoGuirato also served as Art Director in the Office of Communications, and the School of the Arts in Academia, The City University of New York, where he was also an Adjunct Professor. He holds an Associate Degree from NYC Community College, a BA from Queens College and a MA from Brooklyn College.
LoGuirato has had many one person exhibitions in the NYC/Metropolitan area and participated in countless group shows. His work is included in many private and corporate collections.
