The first collection of a posthumous NFT Art Memoir series of the late artist, Teddy Cleanthes. Collection 1, Faces of a Mad Artist, is a hand-selected group of some of Teddy’s favorites, and some of Carl’s. There are 72 NFTs in this collection, all 1 of 1s, symbolizing the age that Teddy reached when he left this world.

EACH NFT INCLUDES THE ORIGINAL WORK OF ART (OWA)

This collection was curated, written, and digitally remastered by his son Carl(Colorful Carl) and daughter-in-law Alden.

Cleanthes Studios existed in many forms, as the art gallery of Carl “Teddy” Cleanthes during his life. Since his passing in 2016, it has been the goal of his namesake son, Carl Cleanthes III, to immortalize the entirety of his life’s work within a digital space- a deathbed promise made real.

During his life, Teddy’s works of art sold for thousands of dollars. Posthumously, they only continue to gain in value. Much like burning an NFT, or coin, the scarcity is real. What there is, is all there is, as he is gone.

Over the past 5 years, Carl and his wife, Alden, have amassed the collection of Teddy’s life’s work. Nearly 700 originals, spanning half a century and includes rarely seen pieces from the late ’60s and ’70s, all the way up to his very last piece of art he did less than a month before his passing from cancer in 2016.

Teddy was considered the epitome of a non-conformist. When in truth, he was simply an enlightened man, way ahead of his time. So it only seems fitting that the release of his body of work should be immortalized in the blockchain, sold with cryptocurrency, and placed in a platform that looks to free the people from currency slavery and manipulation.

The plan is to release the entirety of his work, in separate collections, curated by style, age, color, and other descriptors. We intend to allow for the custodial wallet to authenticate their ownership, and then choose whether or not they would like to claim the original physical piece of art as well. That’s right, the NFT purchase gives you 2 things of value, your 1 of 1 NFT and the matching original physical piece of art.
