This is the first pixellated photo of the "Instant Streets" series, a street photography project with an Instax SQ20 instant camera where I give their portrait to the people I meet, a small gesture that has been lost with the advent of digital photography. Where some street photographers confine themselves to the role of observer, I become an actor: I ask people if I can take their picture, with words or gestures, if they are busy. I never specify that it's an instant camera, it’s the element of surprise, it’s what makes each exchange inevitably end with a smile.
