CryptoRainbows are a collection of 8,760 generative rainbows, a new one for each hour in a normal year.
Being generative art, each artwork is unique and original, with a different hue range, arc composition, number of wings... All CryptoRainbows have been generated by a family of simple scripts, but no two CryptoRainbows are alike.
Genesis
The first 8 rainbows were created between 2000 and 2002, as a thank you token from their creator to 8 different people for helping him through difficult times.
At that time they were not yet CryptoRainbows, but Macromedia Flash 5 scripts that generated JPG files, to be sent by email.
After receiving permission from the original 8 recipients, a total of 8,760 CryptoRainbows have been generated to live on a public blockchain.
Not everybody can catch a rainbow but you will be able to buy one very soon.
