Cows Gone Mad is an NFT collection of 3500 unique pieces of generative art by MetaPolyclinic. The mission is centred around bringing a range of medical services and education into the Metaverse creating what we have dubbed The Mediverse. Utilising blockchain technology and integrating an accompanying Mediverse Token on Ethereum. MetaPolyclinic will operate a DAO giving its community a voice in governing the educational services available, and some medical services as they conclude development.
The art and message behind the project is inspired but also to honor those humans and animals affected by Mad Cow Disease (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy, BSE). The UK outbreak of Mad Cow Disease in the 1980s and its human equivalent variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (vCJD) in the 1990s. These outbreaks resulted in the culling of 4.4 million cows and the deaths of 177 people.
