William Turner is one of the UK's most prominent romantic artists, performing in watercolor. For over 60 years now, a lion's share of Turner's legacy has been exhibited in the premises of the British Museum. This iconic cultural establishment boasts an extensive collection of invaluable art. Of course, the exhibited art, including William Turners' masterpieces has never been sold but cherished with love and care. But that was before the advent of NFTs.

The British Museum, following in the footsteps of numerous international exhibitions, has come up with the idea of digitalizing its art exhibits. The holders will be rewarded with a unique opportunity to own the great masters' paintings, but only as NFTs.

For that, the British Museum has teamed up with LaCollection, a French start-up platform, to buy NFTs of artworks from museums. The first ultra-rare and open-edition NFTs will be available to those who previously purchased a Hokusai art on the platform.

Summing up, the private digital art sale will last only for two days (February 8-9) while the major part of the collection will be open to the public, beginning from February 9 and up to early March.
