The EU Parliament member, and the major NFT community's rights advocate, Stefan Berger, is a renowned name in the realm. The official who was previously tasked with facilitating the progress of EU’s Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) laws, was the first person to stand against applying these power-consuming mining algorithms to NFTs.

Currently, the main promoter of tokenization in the EU is moving even further, having launched his own NFT auction on OpenSea. The token titled Bergolettes represents a pair of slides, where one is branded as #bergo and the other one – ropa. The NFT was put up for auction on August 15th and is still accepting bids.

According to Stefan Berger's tweet, he has chosen Bergolettes slides as his first-ever NFT, believing that each great move starts with the first step. For the creator, this NFT means a "piece of digital freedom in a wallet.

What was tradable yesterday is tokenized on the blockchain today. Yesterday, you wore bathing shoes on your feet, today you carry them in your wallet – in the form of this NFT,” Berger commented on his NFT initiative.

Designed and minted on OpenSea solely by Stefan Berger, Bergolettes NFT was chosen as a metaphor for stepping into the new era of blockchain. All the proceeds raised from the sale will benefit the promotion of swimming, as you can hardly imagine more convenient footwear for a swimmer.

The auction of the one-of-one NFT featuring an ideal summer gadget is in full swing. Take time to place your bid and contribute to the NFT popularization in the EU countries and beyond.
