These Penrose tilings are an aperiodic tiling of Kite and Dart tiles that never repeats. Strict matching rules are used to ensure the tiling is aperiodic. These are created by subdividing, often called inflating, tiles from known valid arrangements to ensure the arrangement shown is valid.
There are only seven valid arrangements around the origin. Combining these with the inflation of the original two tiles, the total is nine possible arrangements. In addition, this Artwork is forever reproducible even if the metadata is lost. The code needed to reproduce the art is stored as Javascript code in the contract.
