Welcome to the “Adopt a Water Monster” collection, we would like to introduce you to the world of axolotls, an amphibian endangered species that live in the ancient lake of Xochimilco, in Mexico City, which today needs your help.

The collection presents 100 axolots NFTs that seek to give a sustainable approach to the digital universe through different objectives:

• Raise funds for the conservation of axolotls

Through the profits acquired by the project, donations will be made to axolotl reserves in Mexico to ensure the conservation and reproduction of the species.

The collection has an agreement with the Mexican Museum of the Axolotl, located in the municipality of Chignahuapan in the State of Puebla, in Mexico, which gives the owners of the NFTs the right to access a real reserve and personally meet the axolotls that are being supported by purchasing the NFTs.

The contact and access details will be revealed to the NFT buyers.

• Combat the illicit market of endangered animals

The main objective of the collection is to share the message that the only way an endangered animal should be acquired is through its virtual artistic representation, preserving its uniqueness without affecting the conservation of the species.

• Disseminate the characteristics of axolotls

The project seeks to share the factors that make the conservation of the axolotl so important:

-           The world “axoltl” comes from the ancient náhuatl, language used by the Aztecs and it means “Water Monster”

-           They can regenerate any part of their body (including their brain).

-           They have the longest DNA structure known.

-           They literally never get old; they keep their young body characteristics their whole life unless they are exposed to extreme stress conditions and evolve to salamanders (yes, like Pokemon).

-           They properties contribute to research projects against cancer.

• Promote Mexican artistic development

The project seeks to promote the development of Mexican digital art through an exhibition with an international scope.

The collection has 100 unique specimens developed by the Mexican digital artist Juan Fernando Bravo Rojas, who has managed to capture the beauty of these animals by establishing in each axolotl unique details of texture, colors, lighting, and other elements that configure these virtual specimens as real artworks.
