Daniel Allen Cohen is an American contemporary artist who is based in Los Angeles, California. He is known for his activism against drug use and makes art that portrays the dangers of narcotics. In addition, he runs a platform named “This is Addictive,” where he highlights adult cravings and material obsessions using art and occasionally items associated with childhood nostalgia. In his activism, Cohen uses sculptures to make satirical comments on the consumer habits of urban youth and Western society in general. One of his most successful endeavours is a series titled “Precious Bars.” In it, he depicts fabricated stacks of money and gold bars wrapped in packaging that resembles shiny chocolate bars that have been slightly altered.
Some of his works of art have graced the walls of art galleries, such as the SCOPE Art Show in Miami and the L.A. Art Show. Cohen brought his anti-narcotic inspired style of creating art to the NFT space in a drop titled “Happy 420”. He launched his collection on the Nifty Gateway platform in the Spring of 2021.
