The Sandbox Partners With Italian Football Club to Explore Metaverse Experiences

The Sandbox, the popular Animoca Brands-owned metaverse platform, has partnered with SSC Napoli, an Italian football club, to explore the metaverse. By opening pop-up shops across four user-generated content (UGC) experiences on the metaverse, the duo aims to revolutionize how football fans interact with one another and their favorite Napoli players.

SSC Napoli’s four pop-up stores within the metaverse are Sports Land, The Bank Job, Temple Escape, and The Legend of the Miners. Participants must visit each pop-up store and complete the quest by interacting with the non-player character (NPC) on The Sandbox’s event page to qualify to win several perks the football club offers.

These benefits include 24 tickets for the next four home matches, two official jerseys, two SSC Napoli footballs, and two Special jerseys signed by players and the coach. Users must complete a Know Your Customer (KYC) assessment before qualifying to win these rewards.

Key players within the football club, such as Leonardo Spinazzola, Frank Zambo Anguissa, Amir Rrahmani, and Matteo Politano, will aid participants in navigating each pop-up. These SSC Napoli footballers will also share insights about themselves and the team.

Participants have until four weeks from press time to participate in the metaverse experience and qualify to win any reward. The Sandbox noted in a blog post that a raffle will occur on August 20th and September 3rd as part of the steps towards announcing the winners.

The duo partners crown it all by opening the doors for Napoli fans to acquire the SSC Napoli White Cap to stylize their avatars and show their fandom.

Over the past years, The Sandbox has become home to multiple projects and hosted various events. One of its recent collaborations saw Attack on Titan, a famous Japanese anime series, enter the metaverse. The partnership stirred up the anime and NFT communities.
