“Where Currents Meet” is inspired by the idea of syncretism, first encountered in the Wait & Hope exhibition in Mexico City. This piece reflects on how different origins, traditions, and identities can merge without losing their essence.
Photographed in April 2025, during a heavy rain which elevated the waters of the Arno in Florence, its surface holding traces of different currents arriving from the mountains. These waters, each shaped by their own journey, do not resist blending. Instead, they flow together, creating new forms, colors, and rhythms.
The long expossure photograph becomes a metaphor for syncretism itself:
a quiet magic that emerges when distinct elements join, not by force, but by natural convergence.
