Casio, a Japanese electronics company, is delving deeper into the NFT realm through its upcoming NFT drop. Dubbed VIRTUAL G-SHOCK, the incoming NFT collection focuses on Casio’s iconic G-Shock watches and is a part of a larger Casio initiative, the VIRTUAL G-SHOCK project.
Inspired by the theme of futuristic shock-resistant G-SHOCK structures, the NFT collection comprises 2,000 digital collectibles coming in two distinct designs – VGA-001 and VGA-002, priced at 0.1 ETH apiece.
The VGA-001 portrays the shock-resistant wristwatch in the structure of passionately-coloured balloons. It encompasses the project’s vision that the artistic world would allow the free movement of floating balloons undisturbed by gravity.
The VGA-002 variant showcases a sturdy leaf spring concept inspired by the resilience of leaf springs in vehicles. Properly aligned with the G-Shock’s shock-resistant nature, the VGA-002 series adopts the power of springs to absorb shock. Its colors add to the realism of the stress the leaf spring-themed watch series can withstand.
The collection will have an “advance sales period” from December 15th through midnight on December 16th. The early sale is open to holders of the G-SHOCK Creator Pass (GSCP). The GSCP is a 15,000-piece access pass NFT collection that was freely distributed by the electronics brand to its users. The collection was primarily introduced to open the gateway to the VIRTUAL G-SHOCK Discord channel.
The general sale will run from December 16th until December 17th. Still, the electronics company hints that the collection may be sold off during the advanced sales period. All buyers are limited to a maximum of six NFTs (three VGA-001 collectibles and VGA-002 collectibles).
Users from any of the 16 supported countries such as Japan, USA, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, and others who wish to participate are urged to get a MetaMask wallet funded with ETH.
