The Origins is a generative digital art collection created directly from real Bitcoin blockchain data, beginning with the Genesis Block on January 3, 2009. Each artwork represents a specific day in Bitcoin’s history, a verifiable snapshot of the network at that moment in time. For every calendar day, two selected Bitcoin blocks are used to create the artworks: one for Dawn and one for Dusk. The project transforms Bitcoin block header data into the structure, texture, and colour of each piece, ensuring that the visuals are driven by on-chain reality rather than invented traits.
Created by digital artist Jakub Spacek (@spaczech90), The Origins is built as a long-form visual archive: a way to revisit Bitcoin’s timeline through art, with each artifact grounded in data and context.
