The Imado-Dei Peace Movement collection is 1,000 unique images of the Imago Dei, Latin for the image of God. Although no two images are exactly alike, each having its own specific backgrounds, characteristics and qualities, every piece in the collection intentionally possesses the colors and silhouette features that represent the total human family, captured in the face of Christ.
Each unique Imago-Dei can be officially owned by a single person on the Ethereum blockchain. The Imado-Dei peace movement is the vision and creation of me, Mike Bethune aka SugarShack, a United States military veteran who overcame homelessness, depression, addiction and suicidal ideation.
During the time that I was homeless, I met people of all cultures, ethnicities, and socioeconomic levels, who still chose to embrace me and showed me love, despite the severity of my broken condition. As a result, I interpreted these acts of humanity and kindness to be the truest picture of the Imago-Dei, image of God in action.
I saw my experience as a picture of humanity helping humanity unconditionally, completely free from the superficial criteria that are typically used to judge, categorize, and hurt others with. It helped me to believe that, if it was somehow possible to peel back the face of Christ, we would be able to clearly see that God is in us all, and we are all in God. This is a truth that I believe contains the power to bring peace to our world, once accepted, embraced, and lived out.
This set of specific experiences ended up being the catalyst that led to my eventual healing, and also to the discovery of my life’s purpose and meaning. It inspired me to go back to school, and I now have earned three degrees, all of which are connected in some way to helping others. At this point, I have been doing my best to bring peace, love, and change to the lives of others for well over two decades.
Although I am a man of faith, the Imago-Dei peace movement is not about any form or sect of religion and proselytization. It’s solely about each person doing their part to bring more peace into the world, through everyday acts of unconditional love and kindness.
It’s also about fully acknowledging and embracing the humanity of others, regardless of where they find themselves along the spectrum of life. It’s about realizing that as humans, although we do our best to plan for life, at any given time…life happens! It’s about allowing our humanity to be impacted and moved with compassion to action when we encounter the brokenness of other human beings.
This is what the mission and movement is, and ownership of an Imago-Dei NFT gives you the perfect conversational piece of art, from which to launch a branch of the movement within your own sphere of influence. In a sense, it deputizes, equips, and empowers you to empower others that you can go forth into the world together, and make a greater difference! It also makes you part of a global community of individuals that are committed to performing genuine, compassionate, random (and intentional) acts of human kindness, within the normal course of their daily lives.
For the record, I’m not a celebrity with a legion of followers, nor does the Imago-Dei peace movement and NFT collection have vc funding or endorsements behind it. I’m just a man that has beaten the odds due to the help of others and has helped thousands do the same over the years. I’m a community leader, a speaker, a workshop creator and facilitator, and a 3X self-help inspirational author.
I’m new to the NFT space, and my primary goal is to connect with people that are looking to genuinely be part of a global community that’s committed to making a real difference. People that have been searching for ways and opportunities to make a significant difference in the lives of other human beings, and as a result, bring more peace and harmony into the world.
