Periodic investigations v.01. A force-driven accidental synthesizer.
This work started from the idea of Vera Molnar's squares. The points with the random directions and speeds on the multiple concentric closed paths disturb the center of mass. Tracing the changes on the center of mass generates the Lissajous curves for free due to the cyclic behavior of the motion on a closed path. To increase the chaos I added springs from cycling points to the center of mass, and rendered it as a massless point(bob). From there I used the parameters to create an accidental synthesizer and its visual utterances.
