This pencil drawing captures the Gothic elegance of St. Stephen's Cathedral and immortalizes an epic story from the 1683 Siege of Vienna. As the Ottoman army approached, the cathedral's bells were silenced, lest the silence provoke the enemy. But when the siege was defeated, the people of Vienna heralded victory with bells. The Pummerin, Austria's largest bell, was melted down from Ottoman artillery shells, turning the enemy's weapons into a symbol of freedom. This work carries the echo of silenced bells and the spirit of resistance of a cathedral. Own this NFT where history and art meet
