StarLedger is a space-themed NFT collection featuring accurate reproductions of real stars in our galaxy.
This fast-selling collection is the creation of husband and wife team, Chris and Crystal. The project began when they pitched the StarLedger idea during a recent Metis hackathon and were selected as the winning project for the NFT track.
Believing in the power of Web3, the duo invested their winnings back into the project to begin building an ecosystem of digital experiences and tools related to making space exploration accessible for all. The team has since grown to include talented 3D artists, game developers, software engineers, data scientists, astrophysicists and marketing support.
The genesis collection of 5,000 Star NFTs emulate real stars in our galaxy, including famous examples such as Polaris (the North Star), Antares, Sirius, Regulus, Betelgeuse and more. Using generative art, 3D renderings are created using leading-edge data compiled by their astrophysicist using real star traits such as color, magnitude, stellar classification and more.

Next for 2022, StarLedger is continuing rollout of functionality including immersive VR/AR experiences to stargaze from historical sites around the world, a StarLedger Marketplace for official and exclusive StarLedger NFTs (including stars, planets and other deep space objects), partnerships for space-themed works (including artists, astrophotographers, musicians and more), and continuous development of a realistic, space-themed StarLedger Metaverse. In the metaverse, avatars (deemed Explorers) can hop aboard interactive spaceships, travel through our galaxy, hang out with friends, interact with NFTs, and experience unique stellar events such as watching a supernova while watching bands play on the rings of Saturn.
