A Rose by Any Other Name. This title a play on the famous line from "Romeo and Juliet" and suggests that even if we call something by a different name, it doesn't change the reality of what it is.
The rose, a symbol of love and romance, can sometimes be seen as a symbol of the lies we tell ourselves about love. The perfect petals, the idealized shape, the fragrant scent - all these things can mask the reality of love, which is imperfect and messy and real. And yet, as they hold the rose, they also hold onto the truth of their love. In that moment, they recognize the beauty of the imperfect, the value of the real. They understand that the lies we tell ourselves about love are
...just that: lies. The reality of love is so much more than the false images and ideas we construct. The real love they share is richer and deeper than any fantasy, and in that moment, they choose to embrace the truth of their love, even if it's not always easy or perfect.
