About: Pxlbots began in 2005 as the original creation of designer Jared Benson. The Pxlbots universe has continued to expand and develop for 16+ years.
In 2021, Pxlbots was formally created with Cahlan Sharp. Together the digital business leaders launched the Pxlbot NFT, enabling the first steps in bringing Pxlbots to the world:
- a web-based Pxlbot experience (eg MiniGame, BotBuilder)
- a Pxlbot mobile game on iOS.
- a public art installation at scale - community involvement
Pxlbots is a company with a fierce commitment to harnessing the best creative talent to tell the story of the Pxlbots universe through games and other engaging formats.
We are original, not derivative. We boldly chart our own path. We are not Hello Kitty. In fact, we’re about as opposite as you can get. But we know cute sells and robots can seem cold, sterile, and intimidating so we must seek to tell accessible stories that inspire and resonate.
Long term, and as we make the right strategic moves along the way, we aspire to be a media franchise (eg Star Wars, Pokémon, Halo), creating a universe with a diverse story, characters, settings, and interactions that keep fans engaged and enable revenue streams over many years.
While Pxlbots gets its start in a nostalgic/pixelated style, over time and with the right artists, we expect to see the Pxlbot expression evolve.
Long term, we will demonstrate our commitment to the Pxlbots story by helping improve our planet’s vital resources where we can.
