Plantiverse :   Plants in the Metaverse

What if plants could create their own NFT images, mint, and sell them - taking their own economic power to invest back into real-life sustainable projects, while the NFT images they create are actual visualizations of plants (and eventually planetary) health?

The Plantiverse is the world’s first NFTrees – each designed by plants, for the benefit of plants, seeded on Solana blockchain.

When you buy an NFTree, you are helping plants help plants by harnessing a rendering that is a visual of the plant’s health status.

Real, living plants communicate their state via sensors to a computer, where their readings change the shape, colors, and other aspects of the image you see.

The proceeds go to protecting forests, wetlands, and other natural ecosystems that you, your friends, and your descendants can visit in the real world.

These NFTrees aren’t only in the metaverse: people can experience them via SOFT, The Store of Future Things, a physical store where people can enter the metaverse.   The first 500 NFTree images are beautiful depictions created by plant-artists; 3D versions are already in the making and will be minted in the second round of NFTrees.  Visitors at SOFT can already walk among both AR and VR versions of the NFTrees.

A Project by Futurity System , a company based in Barcelona, Spain that provides Futures-as-a-Services to companies and organizations. Plantiverse was created as a way to seek NFT use cases for sustainable development.

What if we could give autonomy to plants, forests, and the planet - letting them raise the funds they need in order to maintain their own health?  That is the main goal for the Plantiverse!

In the pipeline, we will introduce these natural artists’ work from forests in the Amazon, Costa Rica, and Mexico (more NFTrees), as well as the Oceans (NFSeas) and Bees (NFBees). Sensation-linked sensors provide a way for the plant to communicate with us humans about their health status, and give them a way for them to raise money for themselves.

The project started as a thought experiment to give plants legal rights, and economic autonomy.  Our first project was Herbie, a Potho plant connected with sensors for driving a robotic flowerpot - allowing them to seek water and light when they need them.  Herbie now is one of the plants connected to sensors that are producing the first 500 NFTree renderings.
