A pioneer of computer art, Dr. Bill has been creating algorithmic works since the early 1970s, long before generative art entered the mainstream. His career has spanned the heights of both academia and the tech industry. After earning his MFA and Ph.D. from Michigan State University, he developed and taught computer graphics programs at The Ohio State University and founded the Electronic Media program at Northern Illinois University. His industry experience includes a pivotal role as a RenderMan™ Evangelist for Pixar, where he also marketed edutainment products for the Toy Story franchise. He later designed innovative E-Learning and multimedia training solutions as a Learning Architect for Andersen Consulting and Accenture Learning. After years of teaching digital and interactive media at the Art Institute of Tampa and Saint Petersburg College, he is now a full-time Generative Artist, continuing his lifelong passion for creating art through code.
