The prestigious album award received by the cult gangsta rap band N.W.A. is now put up for auction in an NFT format. The lucky winning bidder will walk away with a physical double-platinum sales plaque for Straight Outta Compton. By the way, it was the band’s debut album, released by N.W.A.’s Arabian Prince, Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, Ice Cube, DJ Yella, and MC Ren back in 1988.
The plaque once used to belong to the hip-hop mogul Brian Turner. It was Brian, who presented to the world such talents as N.W.A., Eazy-E, Ice Cube, Mack 10, and others.
In addition to N.W.A.'s plaque, the fictional animated blues group California Raisins’ album Sing The Hit Songs is also up for auction.
The auction is being held by the artists' equity-management NFT platform Lobus, starting from March 15th and up to March 22th. To participate, you may use either your Ethereum wallet or place your bid in fiat money. Notably, part of the money from the NFT sale will go to the Y.M.C.A. charitable organization.
