The top-ranking American science-fiction edition Heavy Metal Magazine announces its web3 initiative connecting its audience with artists and creators by launching the tremendous “Writing With the Legends” NFTs.

Founded in 1977 by Leonard Mogel, as a printed periodical devoted to comics, fantasy, and science fiction, Heavy Metal rapidly gained momentum and climbed the top of all rankings. The influential illustrated edition gave rise to such supermassive figures like Frank Frazetta and Richard Corben in fine art, as well as Ridley Scott and James Cameron in the cinema realm.

While the whole world around is turning their sights to the metaverse, the influential edition couldn't fall apart from the trend. The exclusive limited-edition 1:1 "Writing With the Legends" NFTs are launching on CryptoCom on February 4th. Each NFT holder gets unique access to Heavy Metal’s private Discord server in order to contribute to the creation of 5 upcoming Heavy Metal's stories in collaboration with the magazine's creative writers. While the first two stories will be based on the reproduction of already existing Taarna and Cold Dead War stories, the rest will be created from scratch in fantasy, horror, and science fiction genres. Besides, collectors themselves will choose illustrators of their stories.

But these are far from all privileges. After the stories are finished, they will be shared with the fans, who will vote for the most loved characters. Those characters will later become Heavy Metal's profile pictures. The PFP NFTs will be airdropped to each collector holder, who will have 100% of its commercial rights. All holders will also acquire a 3D Sculpted NFT of the main character of the story they created.

“This project we are doing with Crypto.com NFT is the first of its kind — a true partnership between creative professionals and creative enthusiasts, putting the lovers of fiction with Heavy Metal’s best to create original new stories for everyone to enjoy,” Matthew Medney, Heavy Metal CEO, commented on the project.
