One of the world's most historic football clubs, FC Liverpool, with around 130 years on the pitch, is now entering another goal-scoring arena of NFTs. Thus, the legendary Reds are teaming up with the top-ranking auction house Sotheby's for the creation of the premier non-fungible collection named LFC Heroes Club. What's more, the inaugural series of tokens will be sold through Sotheby’s Metaverse. Interestingly, this collaboration is a new foray for Sotheby's, as the auction house has never yet partnered with a sports club throughout its long history.
The metaverse expansion allows FC Liverpool's multi-million worldwide fandom to interact with their fav athletes, each other, and other communities from the comfort of their homes. The collection of grade-A tokens inspired by 24 LFC club superstars will provide their holders with exceptional perks, including access to the LFC community forum, metaverse team-ups, contests, discounts, charities, supporting the LFC Foundation, and more.
According to Sotheby’s, LFC Heroes Club NFTs will be split into two categories: ‘Hero’ and ‘Legendary.’ Take part in the sales of the limited-edition 'Hero' collectibles, or try out by placing a bid in a 1/1 'Legendary' NFTs auction. Both will take place on Sotheby’s Metaverse NFT marketplace from March 30th to April 1st.
Each limited-edition 'Hero' NFT is a digital art collectible featuring one of FCL's iconic footballers or managers, created to the laws of the generative algorithm. This algorithm endows the collection of items with different rarity levels due to random set traits within an NFT. For now, only 3 levels of rarities are known, starting from the most common 'Match Mode’, followed by ‘Fresh Mode’, and up to the rarest ‘Super Mode’. All 'Hero' tokens will be sold for $75 each. While the NFTs will be sold in blind packs, the holders will only know their token's rarity after it arrives in their wallets.
The second part of the collection consists of the rarest 1/1 ‘Legendary’ NFTs, featuring the club's members with their unique superpowers. The 24 exclusive NFTs equal to the number of the club's members will set off to the highest bidders' wallets.
All LFC Heroes Club NFTs will operate exclusively on Sotheby’s Metaverse, powered by Mojito, a Sotheby's-backed Web3 commerce platform. The tokens will be minted using a 'green' Polygon blockchain. Besides, a hefty part of proceeds from the NFTs sale will go to supporting the LFC's official charity, the LFC Foundation.
