Axolopepe is an art collection that expresses the critical situation of the Axolotl species.
The axolotl is a Mexican amphibian that is characterized by its ability to regenerate lost limbs and stay “young” throughout its life. This phenomenon is called neoteny.
The axolotl is critically endangered. Its habitat has been reduced to the canals of Xochimilco and its population is decreasing every year. The main causes of its decline are pollution, the introduction of fish species that compete with or prey on the axolotl, overexploitation and capture for food, and the pet trade.
A percentage of the proceeds will be used to help rehabilitate axolotl habitat, conserve local wildlife, and strengthen agricultural practices.
This program is not affiliated with any political party. Its use for purposes other than those established is prohibited.
