The 13 Evil Santas are based on the Yule Lads - the Icelandic folklore that started as a way to teach children valuable life lessons through fear. The Yule Lads origins are so dark that in 1746 parents were officially banned from tormenting their kids with monster stories (seriously - google it).
Every night on the 13 days before xmas, a different Evil Santa will come from the mountains to torment the children. Icelandic Children must also contend with a creature called Grýla (the child eater) who comes down from the mountains on Christmas and boils naughty children alive to feed to her husband (the Troll Leppalúði), and a giant, blood-thirsty black cat (who is the size of a horse) called the Christmas Cat that prowls around the country on Christmas Eve and eats anyone who's not wearing at least one new piece of clothing.
Every night at midnight Reyjkavik time we will mint a new Santa. There will only be 10 copies of each Santa available. Each has their own deformities and quirks. We will also be minting 10 NFTs of Grýla, Leppalúði, and the Christmas Cat on December 24th
