Our Adopters are Rewarded for Laying the Foundations of our Wildlife hub — Creator's Interview

Howdy fellows! Today we are sitting down with Mathias Syvertsen Gaustad (OhMatty), Project Lead, Business Development of Slow Mo Sloth Club.

Chris: Slow-Mo Sloth Club NFTs are beautiful artworks. What is the story behind the development of these Sloths?

Mathias: Back in December of 2021, I reached out to my old pal Kiory (Darren). After brainstorming about different subjects we landed on sloths, mainly because there weren't many projects out there with the quality we had in mind, and we saw the potential to make an actual difference for endangered animals. After reaching out to a friend, I got in contact with CivilMuffin (Tom) and together they started sketching up the first drafts of the sloth - what initially looked like an inflated brown ball started to shape up bit by bit, one thing everyone agreed on was that there would be no compromises on quality.

Chris: So, the Slow Mo Sloth Club NFTs are dedicated to Sloth Conservation. How are you going to do that through the use of NFT?

Mathias: Slow Mo Labs AS (A registered company in Norway) and The Sloth Conservation Foundation (SloCo) just signed a written agreement where we pledge to donate 5% from the sales, as well as 0.5% of the royalty income to help fund their research and conservation initiatives.

This means that everyone buying/selling these sloths on second hand marketplaces are actively donating towards good causes.

We will also be donating an additional 5% of the sales income to other charities working to save endangered animals, bringing our total contribution to 10%.

Chris: Furthermore, Slow Mo Sloth Club NFTs look like great works of art. How are you pricing the NFTs?

Mathias: Pre-sale: 0.15 ETH (March 18th)
Public sale: 0.2 ETH (March 20th)

Chris: Your roadmap also looks quite well planned. For this, you must be having quite an extensive team. Please introduce us to your dedicated team and how each one of them contributes towards the development of Slow-Mo Sloth Club NFTs.

Mathias: The Slow Mo Team team consists of four core members.

Mathias Syvertsen Gaustad (OhMatty)

I founded CSGOShop, the first marketplace for CS:GO skins outside of Steam. I've always been fascinated by video games, virtual item trading, and virtual reality. I still have the Oculus Rift DK1 development kit in my closet, which started “burning” when I was using it back in the day (terrifying, I know). Experience in business development, sales, and robotic process automation. I adore dogs (I have two) and Italian food.

Tom McCall (CivilMuffin)

Tom has been in the VFX field for over 5 years now, working on feature films by Disney, TV shows by Netflix, National Geographic, Apple, and music videos for Riot.

At college, he discovered his interest for 3D design through game creation, but changed gears to a path that allowed for the maximum fidelity in his work. Away from the computer, Tom enjoys everything outside, whether it's cycling or photography. He'd like to find a way for his digital art to give back to the natural world.

Tom is adding his sculpting expertise to the SMSC project, blocking in and bringing the Slow Mo Sloth to life, as well as further enhancing the style with look development and art direction, together with Darren (Kiory).

Darren Harrison (Kiory)

Experienced 3D graphics artist with expertise in next-generation asset creation and workflows. Introducing cutting-edge hard surface work to the project. I'm a huge cat lover and share their coffee addiction, and I'm a huge fan of synthwave music.

Lyu Jinhang (Lyu)

Fullstack Engineer with over 10 years of experience. Highly skilled with Web3 and Smart Contract Development.

Chris: Additionally, when is the public sale of Slow-Mo Sloth Club NFTs? Do you also have a whitelist?

Mathias: Public Sale starts on March 20th @ 2PM EST. The exclusive pre-sale is reserved for our most active and loyal members, those who contribute to the project's growth.
There are currently 1,000 whitelist spots, each whitelisted adopter will be able to mint up to 3 unique sloths each.

Chris: We see that all the members are fully doxed. Why did you think this was important?

Mathias: The NFT scene has moved extremely fast in the past six months. We have seen projects who overpromise and underdeliver, all while being anonymous. We want our backers to feel safe in knowing who the team is and what their experience is so that anyone can do their research about the project and those involved.

Chris: Moreover, we see that you have planned quite a few giveaways and prizes. How does one keep updated about Slow-Mo Sloth Club NFTs to benefit from these?

Mathias: It's important for us that our adopters are rewarded for laying the foundations of our wildlife hub. Giving back only feels right. Even if you had the best product in the world, if you don't take care of your holders then it doesn't matter. Our Website, Twitter & Discord is the best way to stay informed on news and announcements.

Chris: Finally, how does the roadmap go from here for Slow-Mo Sloth Club NFTs? What’s next after the complete sale of the NFTs?

Mathias: We don't want to give away too much just yet in terms of the future, but we will be announcing something before the upcoming release. We will always work towards creating benefits for our holders and keeping up to speed with the rapidly evolving technology. We are also actively looking at other charities and organizations with documented and proven track-records.

I can however say that each sloth will be given either a male or female gender, randomly assigned by the smart contract. This will be one of the important things for what's coming next.
