Doodles Expands to Solana Network Following Partnership With DRiP

Ethereum-based NFT project Doodles has expanded into the Solana network by partnering with DRiP Haus (shortened as DRiP), an NFT drop platform. The collaboration is accompanied by a social media challenge dubbed “Make Something: Dark Mode.”

Unlike Web2 platforms that milk profits from users whenever they view and engage with adverts, DRiP is a Solana-based project that inverts the narrative, rewarding users for their time and attention every week. The platform enables creators to reward their followers with digital content such as art, music, comics, games, collectibles, and more for free whenever they perform specific actions. Users have received over 200 million collectibles since the project’s inception.

Only 24 hours into its partnership with DRiP, Doodles has amassed 64.2K followers and 49.5K Thanks, a DRiP feature that followers use to appreciate the creator’s efforts. These metrics indicate the Doodles community’s interest in the new venture. As of this writing, Doodles has its first collectible on DRiP, featuring the Doodles mascot in a dark-mode, green-colored incubator capsule.

Hours after announcing the partnership, the duo unveiled “an art challenge to further the dark mode movement.” Creators can participate in this initiative, “Make Something: Dark Mode,” by following Doodles on the DRiP platform, making something with dark mode, and quoting a particular X post with their submissions by March 5th. The top three submissions will feature their works on the DRiP channel and receive an earnings split on Doodles’ commemorative drop. Collectors can join the project’s channel and receive a commemorative drop from noon ET.

Notably, Doodles’ latest initiative is among many efforts the project has made to attract users to its ecosystem. Earlier this month, the project launched a native token, $DOOD, a path many rival PFP projects have followed recently. In November, Doodles collaborated with the multinational fast-food chain McDonald’s to feature the NFT’s mascot on coffee cups.

Given that Doodles’ partnership with DRiP has already begun to catch the attention of many onlookers, there is a possibility that it could promote the project’s non-fungible brand. Since Doodles decided to go beyond its comfort zone into Solana, it may soon go deeper into the so-called Ethereum killer.
