The Norman Rockwell Museum and the Norman Rockwell Family are bringing a rich legacy of a renowned American painter and illustrator to Web3. Limited-edition NFTs and physical artworks by Norman Rockwell including some never-before-published images and process works will drop as a multi-part series, dubbed Studio Sessions: The Norman Rockwell Collection. It was produced in collab with Iconic, a digital platform dedicated to helping traditional art institutions explore and experiment with emerging technologies. Iconic is also known for collaborating with the Jackson Pollock Studio on a similar NFT collection.
Norman Rockwell is a legendary painter who masterfully depicted everyday life in the USA, conveying the essence of American culture through his artworks. The upcoming digital collection will dive deep into the archive of more than 18,000 preliminary sketches, drawings, and photography sessions created through the mid-twentieth century by Norman Rockwell. Each ‘Series’ from the ‘Studio Sessions’ series will feature a selection of these archival pieces, centered around one of Rockwell's celebrated paintings. Each NFT will also come paired with a matching limited-edition museum-quality print.
All willing collectors will be able to purchase NFTs from the collection through credit card transactions or Ethereum payments, with all the prices to be revealed soon. The proceeds from this NFT collection will be directed toward preserving Norman Rockwell’s artworks and ensuring public access to them.
