The son of two artists, photographer Giulio Rose Giannini graduated from NC State's Design College with a degree in Architecture. "I see everything from the perspective of an architect," says Giannini. His work began in architectural photography, a fascination complemented by exposure to digital rendering in the classroom. As his skill behind the camera developed, Giannini was recruited by local recording artists, honing his skills in portrait photography.
Currently, Giannini's creativity extends beyond the limits of the many tools in his arsenal. In post-production, Giannini exhibits an aggressive command of focus and spontaneity to achieve unique minimalist surrealism. "I have a minimalist product, but a maximalist design process," he explains, emphasizing his intensely iterative process in capturing and creating unpredictability.
During the week, Giulio works as a designer at Hobgood Architects, one of the top design firms in North Carolina. Recent projects are the designs for all new architecture at Dorothea Dix Park in collaboration with Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, as well as the Argo Museum, Iran's newest contemporary art museum.
