Adidas continues pushing the creativity forward and fostering a deeper connection with its web3 community. A world-famous street style brand is set to launch a new art program, dubbed the ‘RESIDENCY by adidas’ through the adidas /// Studio. Aimed at supporting the artists and giving them an opportunity to showcase their talent and collaborate with adidas, the ‘brand’s first digital artist-in-residence program’ is set to launch in September. It’s worth noting that it will not only be focused on digital art but also on physical items.

The first wave of the program will feature the pieces by two artists, MonkeeMoto and Adra Kandil (aka Dear Nostalgia). MonkeeMoto has a knack for web3 game development and digital concept design while Andra Kandil is a master of collages, typography, photography, and digital montages. The artworks of both artists will go on sale as limited editions with only 100 pieces per artist priced at 0.15 ETH and open editions at 0.03 ETH apiece. They will be available from September 6th to 11th, marking the launch of the ‘RESIDENCY by adidas’ program. 

The RESIDENCY creations by MonkeeMoto and DearNostalgia will be showcased at an immersive digital art gallery during The Gateway by NFT Now at Korean Blockchain Week. It’s worth noting that the limited edition pieces will only be available for the attendees of The Gateway in Seoul while the open editions will be available to everyone.

With its newest NFT initiative adidas proved once again that it has already gone beyond just a sportswear brand. It has transformed into an entity which is involved in various cultural movements around the world, touching the realms of music and art. 

The RESIDENCY platform is a creative hub for emerging and renowned artists to help them manifest in the Web3 space. It aims to unite art, identity, and creative expression together with the artists who align with adidas' values of collaboration, co-creation, and innovation.
