We are in the midst of a revolution. In the middle of an evolution of AI and art. As we dawn on the AI Age, we begin to see extremes of impermanence, rapid change. As a multidisciplinary artist I am constantly revolving, evolving. But one thing always stays true, the soul of my work. In my vast body of work you will see a connection in color, theme, and technique. A touch of my soul.
Lately I have been experimenting with AI to see if it is able to capture my essence, my soul, my evolution. So I took this rendering of Donna Summer that I created for the Album "Love To love you" over 10 years ago and I asked the AI to create an evolution of this piece in my very own style.
To my excitement the AI knew exactly who I was and knew the intricacies of my work very well. For me this takes the randomness and spontaneity out of AI creation, validating it to a higher standard, my own standards.
It was able to reference me, my work and my evolution in ways that maybe I wouldn't have even noticed. It showed me who I was through its own eyes. And when you can ask it to look back at you and create familiar results that you may have done anyway, it is profound.
AI brings a change in the way we will work and create. And it can be used as a tool that is able to look back at us and show us who we are.
As we see AI, AI sees us.
