King Kong

King Kong, on top of the Empire State Building, who does not surrender to the incessant fire of the jet fighters, but who yields to the fragility and beauty of Ann, the woman who made a beast fall in love, and who made him surrender and fall to his death once he realized that she would never be his.    One of the most cinematic and heartbreaking scenes that humankind has ever witnessed in front of a screen.    But what has made this so iconic?   Because it was designed to convey a clear message that has never been so salient than it is today, namely modern capitalism (represented by the Empire State Building) that is destroying mother nature (represented by Kong).    However, thanks to this representation that is given by the properties of this image, the mystical creature of Kong continues to live through the significance we have assigned to him.    And remember, in the end... nature always prevails.
