In Travess’ upcoming solo exhibition, mythic Greek labyrinths, artificial-life algorithms, and retro video games all coexist within vibrant pixel maps. Travess Smalley is a digital artist and educator who works with computational software to create complex and unique generative systems in various forms — including computer graphics, digital images, prints, software, games, and books. By extending his generative process and scripts using digital printing, scanning, and creative software, Smalley incorporates alternative processing methods to produce unimaginable, emergent images.
