One of the world's most sought-after music festivals, Coachella enters the NFT Universe with a zingy collection. It will feature art prints, photo books, digital collectibles redeemable for physical items, and lots more. The most staggering thing within this collection is that Coachella will issue the lifetime festival passes as NFTs!
The main idea behind the drop is to “embrace non-fungible tokens as new technology to help the festival fans connect and discover”.
For this initiative, Coachella has partnered with the FTX US company to build up the NFT marketplace on Solana. The festival’s NFT platform will open on February 4th with the massive drop of 11,010 tokens across three collections as follows:
- Coachella Keys is a series of 10 tokenized timeless keys, allowing their owners lifetime access to Coachella. This includes passes to one festival weekend every April and Coachella produced virtual experiences… forever. In addition, such a key provides its holder with a bunch of other unique experiences such as front and center views at the Coachella Stage, lifetime Safari camping, or a dinner prepared by a professional chef in the Rose Garden. The auction for this collection begins on the 4th of February at 10 am PT and will last for one week.
- Sights and Sounds collection includes 10 NFTs at 1,000 editions each. The collection features the festival's memorable photo and an audio record, priced at $60. The highlight of this collection is that holders can redeem their NFTs to a physical art print of the photograph.
- Desert Reflections is a 1,000 supply random NFT mint to celebrate the festival’s 20-year history. The participants will benefit from 10 possible digital renditions of an iconic Coachella poster at $180 each. All NFTs will be redeemable for a physical Coachella 1999-2019 photo book.
