Augmentors' creatures represent a unique piece of internet and Web3 culture that predates NFTs. The in-game creatures were anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain through Counterparty - some of the first conceptions of NFTs in existence. Fortunately, NFT standards and usage, blockchain gaming and play-to-earn economies have matured since Augmentors launched in 2017, enabling the project to deliver this piece of history back to the original Augmentors community.
Augmentors will be launching a project where the game creatures will be ported and reissued as collectible NFTs on the Solana blockchain. Original supporters of the game, who bought a limited number of creatures in various classes ranging from champion to god as part of the Databits ICO, will be able to claim their in-game creatures and take ownership of their unique piece of digital history. The funding to release these assets back to the community came from prior investors in an effort to return some value back to the original Augmentors community. None of the assets are being sold - they are merely being delivered to the original token sale participants.
The Augmentors project aims to enable original supporters of the game, who bought Databits and/or a limited number of creatures in various classes ranging from champion to god, to claim their creatures as NFTs. NFTs will be minted on the Solana blockchain.
