Howdy fellows! Today we are sitting down with Pilar Waters (Pielar), Social Media Lead at Pieland Octopies NFT.
Chris: The first release of Pieland is going to be the Octopies. What was your inspiration to build these tokens?
Pilar: The inspiration behind the "Octopie" concept was a desire to create a unique NFT. When our core team was in the beginning stages of our project, they thought about creating an animal NFT, as well as a food NFT, but they'd seen both of those before. Our talented artist, Ryan, was coming up with plenty of different NFT ideas, and when he showed them the Octopie, this animal/food hybrid creature, they immediately agreed, "This is it!"
Chris: Pieland Octopies NFTs are the right mix of serious and silly. How do the Pieland Octopies NFTs help in serving society?
Pilar: We love to be silly and ridiculous at Pieland, but we take our project extremely seriously! An aspect of our project that is very close to our hearts is that we are a Carbon Negative NFT. This is going to be accomplished by Carbon off-setting, as well as our commitment to planting 1 tree per Octopie minted. We are extremely proud of this commitment, as we think it's something very few projects have taken initiative to do! On top of this, Phase 1 of our Roadmap will include charitable donations. Since the planning stages, this was something that was important to everyone on our team.
Chris: Similarly, the Pieland Octopies NFT smart contract is upgradable. How does it upgrade? How will the changes be made to the smart contract?
Pilar: Our amazing dev, Bonfire, has crafted our upgradable smart contract in such a way that we can make changes to the smart contract. This means we can always keep things up-to-date or evolve our smart contract as the Ethereum blockchain develops. But to keep it fully transparent, changes to the smart contract will only be made through community voting. We see this as true decentralization!
Chris: So, what will be the price of Pieland Octopies NFT? How much will be the gas fees?
Pilar: Pieland's Octopies cost 0.088 ETH to mint.
Chris: Moreover, how is each token different? What are the key features of Pieland NFT?
Pilar: Each Pieland NFT is unique in the way that each is a randomly generated piece of art with different traits! There are also 80+ 1/1s which are extra special and unique Octopie NFTs.
Chris: Also, how can one buy the Pieland Octopies NFT? What is the minting process?
Pilar: Our Octopies will be available for mint at 3pm PST on our website. On Discord and Twitter, we have guides for purchasing ETH and the team will be 100% on hand to help out during the process, for those who are new to the space.
Chris: In the end, please share some key milestones that Pieland aims to achieve in the future? What are your primary targets for 2022?
Pilar: Our roadmap includes things like merch, cross-chain experiences, Octopie personalization, an achievement system, and later on, games and a mobile app! In 2022, the first actions we will focus on are sticking to our Carbon Negative commitment and the charitable donations, soon after moving on to other fun and exciting areas of our roadmap! We love seeing how excited the community is for everything we have planned!
