We are joined by Mo Ganji — Founder of Mo Ganji Mammals NFT. He is an artist globally renowned for his minimalist single line designs and tattoo art.
Chris: Mo Ganji Mammals NFT is an artwork collectible dedicated to the beauty and diversity of the animal kingdom. What is your story behind the inspiration for the development of these digital artworks?
Mo Ganji: Animals are an integral part of my artistic identity. People from all over the globe provide me a piece of their skin for my unique signature of animal symbolism. I could fill books with the heartwarming stories I have heard about what these tattoos and the animals mean to people. I was overwhelmed with joy as I realized that there is a lot of people out there who really care and see through the perversion of speciesism in modern society. There is no difference between us. We are all one - we have more in common than what is apparent at first sight. With my NFT collection I wanted to transport this message to a broader audience and raise awareness for the animal kingdom in circles who may not be part of my social bubble already. This new venture also gives me a chance to create designs of creatures who are not as commonly popular.
Chris: Mo Ganji NFTs are associated with several animal rescue organizations. Please share details of some of the organizations that you wish to support through the proceeds from this NFT.
Mo Ganji: For this first collection we have selected a handful of organizations who I have a personal connection to in some way. For instance there is Chão dos Bichos who rescued my dog Cleo from the streets of Portugal. Misfit-cats did the same for my brothers cats who were found in a cardboard box in Kiew. The Libassa Wildlife Sanctuary is a place that I became aware of through one of my customers. They look after pangolins - I love pangolins. We made sure that the organizations we chose are all very hands on and exclusively use the raised funds to help a broad variety of animals in need all over the world.
Chris: Is it true that the minting of Mo Ganii tokens is active? What are the unique features of this token that sets it apart from other digital animal-based artwork collectibles on Web 3.0?
Mo Ganji: Yes, our first collection dropped on March 21. We already sold a handful of designs during our presale on NiftyKit and revealed a range of around 350 designs for public sale on the OpenSea store front.
We created a token with different utilities to offer the community a broad variety of choices. If you are into my artwork but don’t like tattoos or you want to own a design of a specific creature, you can go to OpenSea and pick and choose. Here you can also purchase one of our dedicated Charity tokens. These give people the opportunity to directly support one of our 6 organizations with of their purchase as we donate 100% of the revenue of these tokens. If you are an NFT collector or tattoo fan and like the thrill, you can mint out of the Treasure Chest. You can read below about the contents of this range of 200 designs. The overarching theme of these tokens is otherwise pretty straightforward. You can buy a unique piece of digital art to support me as an artist and also become part of a community that cares for animals in need.
Chris: Importantly, what is the public minting cost of the NFT? Are the tokens priced differently for different categories?
Mo Ganji: The purchase at the open store front is 0,3 ETH. For the Treasure Chest we have decided to go with 0,2 ETH to give people the chance to buy multiple designs to increase their chance of getting something special.
Chris: Just to clarify, what are the Treasure Tokens? When would you reveal the features of these additional releases?
Mo Ganji: In the Treasure Chest we have hidden designs with less common properties, special creatures and 10 Tattoo Tokens, which can be used as a redeemable ticket for an original Mo Ganji tattoo including priority booking rights. These tokens can be minted blindly and will be revealed right after purchase.
Chris: Again, Mo Ganji Tokens also have a lot of real-life events planned for the future. What kind of events do you plan to host for the NFT holders?
Mo Ganji: Yes. While we wanted to avoid making false promises to our community there are a few activities we would like to organize once the pandemic with all of its restrictions is hopefully fully overcome. We will reveal the details of these once things get more concrete. What we can promise already is annual tattoo raffles for token holders and we will randomly pick a small number of token holders to join us for a visit of one of the six partner organizations.
Chris: We would like to know more about the team behind the creation of Mo Ganji NFTs. Please share details about your key contributors to the token.
Mo Ganji: This is a family business at the moment. I collaborate closely with my brother who helped me setting up my first collection and helps me with administration, community management and communication. I do what I do best - day dreaming and sketching around.
Chris: Before we close, please share the future roadmap with the readers. What are the major goals for 2022 for Mo Ganji NFTs?
Mo Ganji: This has been 3 very exciting months. Right now we want to focus on promoting the first collection to help us grow my name in the NFT space organically.
