The legendary Portuguese footballer, brand face, and successful entrepreneur Cristiano Ronaldo has recently signed the iconic partnership with the trendsetting blockchain ecosystem Binance. According to the crypto exchange, this is a long-living partnership concerning NFTs. Through this collaboration, Binance aims to provide millions of Ronaldo's fans with a seamless entrance into the web3, rewarding and empowering them to use cryptos and NFTs.
As part of the agreement, Cristiano Ronaldo and Binance will develop and launch a series of non-fungible collections via the Binance NFT platform. The first NFT series is planned for launch later this year and will feature designs created with Ronaldo's direct involvement.
The news was announced in a video message by Ronaldo himself via the Binance official Twitter post, reading: “This is your opportunity to own an iconic piece of sports history and join CR7’s Web3 community.”
"Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the world's best footballers and has transcended sport to become an icon in multiple industries. He has amassed one of the world's most dedicated fan bases through his authenticity, talent, and charity work. We are thrilled to provide his fans with exclusive engagement opportunities to connect with Ronaldo and own a piece of iconic sports history," Binance Founder and CEO CZ Changpeng Zhao commented on the collab.
Following on from CZ's words, the football icon added: "My relationship with the fans is very important to me, so the idea of bringing unprecedented experiences and access through this NFT platform is something that I wanted to be a part of. I know the fans are going to enjoy the collection as much as I do."
And that's for sure, as Ronaldo's social fan base is one of the world's largest, with a jaw-dropping 560 million followers both on Twitter and Instagram combined.
